Axel Rudi Pell, born on June 27, 1960, is a prominent German hard rock guitarist known for his extensive career and captivating performances. With a musical journey that began as a member of Steeler from 1984 to 1988, Pell ventured into a solo career in 1988, marking the initiation of a remarkable solo career.

Throughout his musical odyssey, Axel Rudi Pell collaborated with renowned drummers such as Jörg Michael and Mike Terrana, and vocalists including Charlie Huhn, Johnny Gioeli, Jeff Scott Soto, and Rob Rock. Notably, Gioeli has been the enduring vocalist since 1998, contributing to albums like "Oceans of Time" in 1998 and "Knights Call" in 2018.

Pell's musical narrative often revolves around the theme of a knight in shining armor embarking on various adventures. Each album serves as a new quest, with songs narrating distinct stories. His guitar work is profoundly influenced by Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple.

In 2014, Axel celebrated his 25th anniversary with a remarkable performance at the Bang Your Head festival in Germany, featuring special guests and a diverse setlist encompassing Steeler and Axel Rudi Pell reunions.

The band marked its 30th anniversary in 2019 with the release of a double live album, "XXX – 30th Anniversary Live," capturing moments from the Knights Call 2018 tour. Their latest release, "The Ballads 6," debuted in early 2023.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Axel Rudi Pell persevered and released the album "Sign of the Times" in May 2020. The subsequent tour was postponed multiple times, emphasizing the band's commitment to live performances.

Known for extensive touring, Axel Rudi Pell primarily captivates audiences in Germany, occasionally gracing international stages, including one-off shows in London. The band is a regular presence at renowned music festivals like Wacken Open Air.

The band's lineup boasts seasoned musicians, including Axel Rudi Pell on guitar, Johnny Gioeli on lead vocals, Ferdy Doernberg on keyboards, Volker Krawczak on bass guitar, and Bobby Rondinelli on drums since 2013.

Axel Rudi Pell's discography is expansive, featuring solo albums such as "Eternal Prisoner," "Magic," "Circle of the Oath," and recent releases like "Sign of the Times" and "Lost XXIII."
