Eivør Pálsdóttir, known by her mononymous stage name Eivør, is a versatile Faroese singer-songwriter and actress born on July 21, 1983, in Syðrugøta. With a career spanning several decades, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the music industry, exploring genres such as folk, art pop, jazz, folk rock, classical, and electronica.

Eivør's musical journey began at the age of 13 with her first televised performance. A notable point in her career was joining the band Clickhaze at the age of 15 in 1999, where she served as the lead singer. In the following year, she released her debut self-titled album, "Eivør Pálsdóttir." The year 2001 marked the victory of Clickhaze in the Prix Føroyar song contest.

Relocating to Reykjavík in 2002 for music studies, Eivør collaborated with the music ensemble Yggdrasil, releasing an album the same year. Her second solo album, "Krákan," released in 2003, earned her nominations and awards at the Icelandic Music Awards, including Best Singer and Best Performer.

Eivør's career continued to flourish, with achievements such as winning Arsins Føroyingur (Faroe Islander of the Year) in 2004 and receiving the Icelandic Gríma award in 2005. Her fifth album, "Mannabarn," produced by Dónal Lunny, reached #39 on the Danish Tracklisten in 2007.

A significant turning point came in 2010 when Eivør released the album "Larva," showcasing a departure from her folk sound toward a more experimental and electronic style. In 2012, she collaborated with her husband, Faroese composer Tróndur Bogason, on the award-winning album "Room."

Eivør's international collaborations include working with Bear McCreary on the soundtrack for God of War in 2016 and contributing to the soundtrack of The Last Kingdom in 2018. In 2020, she released the album "Segl" and became the cover artist for Turkey's largest digital music magazine, ÖMC Dergi.

Her latest accolade includes receiving the 2021 Nordic Council Music Prize. Notably, in September 2023, Eivør signed with Independent Metal Label Season of Mist, as announced on Instagram.
