Gims, also known as Maître Gims, is a French rapper, singer, and composer. He first gained fame as a member of the French hip-hop group Sexion d'Assaut, and later launched a successful solo career.
Gims was born on May 6, 1986 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He moved to France at the age of two and grew up in the Paris suburb of Montreuil. Gims began his music career in the late 2000s as part of the French hip-hop group Sexion d'Assaut. The group released its debut album, "L'école des points vitaux," in 2012, and achieved widespread success in France with hits such as "Wati by Night" and "Avant qu'elle parte."
