With an extensive discography, a dynamic lineup, and a pioneering influence on the metal scene, Kreator continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Secure your tickets now for an unforgettable live experience.
A Storied Legacy Since 1982
Formed in Essen, Germany, Kreator emerged as a force in thrash metal with Miland "Mille" Petrozza as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. The current lineup, featuring Petrozza alongside drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq, showcases a synergy that has evolved over the band's 42-year history.
Thriving Evolution and Critical Acclaim
Kreator's musical journey spans fifteen studio albums, two EPs, two live albums, and three compilation albums. From the influential "Pleasure to Kill" (1986) to the chart-topping "Gods of Violence" (2017), each album represents a chapter in the band's evolution. Despite their influential status, mainstream recognition came with later releases like "Phantom Antichrist" (2012) and "Gods of Violence."
Global Metal Pioneers
Kreator, alongside Destruction, Sodom, and Tankard, is celebrated as one of the "Big Four" of Teutonic thrash metal. The band played a pivotal role in shaping and popularizing the German thrash metal scene. Their influence extends beyond thrash, contributing to the emergence of death metal and black metal during the mid-1980s.
Latest Sonic Onslaught: "Hate Über Alles"
In 2022, Kreator unleashed their latest studio album, "Hate Über Alles," delivering a visceral assault of metal mastery. The album reaffirms Kreator's commitment to pushing musical boundaries and serves as a testament to their enduring relevance. Excitement is building as the band is already hard at work on a follow-up.
Musical Diversity and Influences
Kreator's musical style, complex and melodic since "Violent Revolution" (2001), has evolved over the years. From thrash to industrial metal and gothic metal in the '90s, the band returned to their classic thrash roots in the early 2000s. Influenced by post-punk, hardcore punk, and iconic rock and metal bands, Kreator's sound is a dynamic fusion that continues to resonate with metal enthusiasts.
Dynamic Lineup Across Decades
With Petrozza and Reil as the only original members, Kreator has seen lineup changes, each contributing to the band's evolution. The addition of Yli-Sirniö in 2001 and Leclercq in 2019 brought new dimensions to Kreator's sonic arsenal.
Metal Icons: Current and Former Members
The current lineup, featuring Petrozza, Reil, Yli-Sirniö, and Leclercq, brings together a wealth of experience and fresh energy. Past members, including Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik and Christian "Speesy" Giesler, have played integral roles in shaping Kreator's legacy.
