Lo & Leduc: Swiss Rap Pioneers
Discover the rhythmic beats and poetic lyrics of Lo & Leduc, a dynamic Swiss rap duo hailing from Bern. Their unique blend of linguistic prowess and musical innovation has captured the hearts of audiences, and their journey from the early days of Pacomé to becoming chart-topping artists is a testament to their creative evolution.
In the Beginning: Pacomé Era
Formation and Challenges
Lo & Leduc's musical journey began in the mid-2005s as part of a Bernese dialect group known as Pacomé. In 2007, the group faced a challenge when singer Luc Oggier experienced voice problems for an extended period. Lorenz Häberli stepped in as a substitute and became a permanent member, marking a significant turning point for the duo.
Pacomé's Initial Success
Their first album under Pacomé was released in 2009, showcasing their linguistic and musical prowess. As Lo & Luc, they treated fans to "Update 1.0" and "Update 2.0," both released as free downloads. The subsequent "Update 3.0" in 2012, featuring danceable tracks like "Räuber u Poli," gained considerable success.
Lo & Leduc's Commercial Debut
In 2012, Lo & Leduc embarked on their first commercial album. Alongside their musical endeavors, both members pursued studies in German and History. The album, titled "Zucker fürs Volk," was released in April 2014, quickly climbing to #2 on the Swiss charts within a week. The album's success continued throughout the year, attaining gold status and solidifying their position in the Swiss music scene.
Awards and Accolades
Lo & Leduc's impact on the Swiss music scene was duly recognized at the 2015 Swiss Music Awards. With nominations in multiple categories, including Best Group, Best Live Act, and Best Talent, they emerged as the night's top performers, winning all three categories – a feat achieved by only one other group in 2008.
